The 5150 AutoSport BMW S54 3.0L Destroker Kit is engineered for racers who need high RPM capability and precise engine response. By reducing the S54’s displacement from 3.2L to 3.0L, this kit optimizes the rod-to-stroke ratio for sustained high RPM applications, allowing the engine to safely rev to 10,000 RPM while maintaining exceptional balance and reliability.

Each kit includes our 4340 billet steel crankshaft, forged CP pistons, and SP Components connecting rods (with an optional upgrade to CP-Carrillo rods for the ultimate in strength and precision). The reduced stroke design minimizes piston speed and stress at high RPM, delivering faster revving characteristics and improved throttle response—ideal for race, time attack, and high-performance street applications.

Every component is precision matched and balanced to 5150 AutoSport’s strict performance standards, ensuring long-term durability even in extreme operating conditions.

Why De-Stroke an Engine?

  • Common for track cars
  • Some class restrictions limit cars to 3.0L displacement
  • More top-end horsepower (at the cost of low-end torque)
  • Increased RPMs

  • Greater longevity at high RPMs
  • Improved Crank-Rod Ratio for high RPM applications:
    • De-Stroked = 1.65
    • Factory = 1.53:1
    • Stroker = 1.43
